Iemmello opened the scoring after just 49 seconds with a header, then scored the second goal at 15'. Pittarello scored the third goal, then netted by 19-year-old Liberali, an ex-Milan, with a magic. In between, there was only one Palermo's whistle with a header by Ceccaroni wide. Palermo will have to pull off an upset to recover the three goals in the return match.
