The strategy to launch the assault on Serie A in 2027 is already defined: a targeted blow for each department, with the aim of strengthening a squad with already discrete bases, and a series of parallel operations to strengthen the second lines. The funds made available by the City Football Group will be added to a significant saving on the contracts of those players who will not be part of the new Palermo: these figures, which range between 3 and 4 million euros, will then be spread between the contracts and the costs of the new signings. For the reds, the issue of exits is a priority: between expired loans, returning loans, expiring contracts and excess players, at least 13 players need to be placed, but they could still be more depending on the evaluations that will be made in the retreat on specific profiles, against which doubts are currently being nurtured. It will be fundamental to lighten the heavier contracts: with the sales of Brunori, Nikolaou, Diakité, Gomes, Blin, Gomis and Bereszynski (the last two for the end of the contract) Palermo would have a saving of around 3 million, but it could reach 4 if Magnani and Gyasi, who came out of a championship with few lights and many shadows, were added to this list. Palermo aims to strengthen the second lines and lighten the heavier contracts to launch the assault on Serie A 2027.
