Palermo is ramping up its efforts in the transfer market to strengthen the squad for the 2026/2027 season. The first target for the Rosanero's sporting director, Carlo Osti, is Tommaso Cassandro, a 2000-born defender owned by Como. Last season, Cassandro played on loan at Catanzaro, where he had an excellent year, making 33 appearances and contributing three goals and two assists. Osti has initiated talks with Como to try to finalize the deal, and there is cautious optimism about a positive conclusion. Osti's renewal with Palermo will be officially announced soon, which could further facilitate negotiations. Cassandro would be an important reinforcement for coach Pippo Inzaghi, who is looking to build a competitive team for the upcoming Serie B season.
